Live audio frequency spectrum integration

Live audio frequency spectrum integration

Postby _LSX_ » Mon Nov 28, 2011 1:28 am

One of the new features in LSX today is the ability to utilize live audio from a microphone, line in, or windows internal 'wave mixer' to not only use and display the waveform, but also the frequency spectrogram can be sampled. This can be applied to abstract generator parameters, colorization, shape and movement features of frames, beams, and more. Here is an example to get you started. The Audio spectrogram is the second event, you can pause over it to experiment and watch it for a long time. The frequency spectrogram is sampled in the animation animator using the spec2 expression function.

This is a very cool feature. I like how the demo file posted shows both modulating a circle with the sound's amplitude and then using the sound's frequency spectrum. Everyone should try it out!
